A Trade is a means to increase the production rate of Comrades. Progression in the game is highly dependent on completing Trades because every production resource requires Comrades to build. A significant number of Comrades are required to reach higher industries and build high tier production resources.
There are five Trades available to purchase, each corresponding to one of the five industries. Each Trade costs a certain amount of a base resource, dependent on the number of Trades already completed for that industry. Successive trades in the same industry cost an increasing amount of its base resource.
Each industry will increase the Comrade production rate per trade by a different amount. Additionally, some Researchers boost the rate of one or all industries by applying a multiplier to the base rate. The base rate of Comrade production for each industry is the following:

History
Version 3.0: Trades replaced 2.0 Missions
Version 3.6: Upgrading comrade researchers will affect your current comrade count, as before, you would have to rank up in order for the upgraded trades to have any use.
