Unlocking will decrease the cost of ALL industries.
Mega Tron's effect multiplies with the effect of other researchers. For example, you have a level 2 Pringlett (x100 discount for potato industry) and a level 1 Mega Tron (x10 discount) then everything in the Potato industry will be x1000 cheaper.
Mega Tron is based upon the character of Megatron from the Transformers franchise, specifically how he first appeared in 1984. The design also references the aesthetics of the 2010 film Tron: Legacy, a sequel to the 1982 film TRON. The researcher's quote references the TRON character's trademark line, which can be heard in both movies.
