Capsule

Capsules are rewards containing Science, Gold and Researcher Cards. They come in various different rarities and are obtained from either Free Capsules, as Mission Rewards, as event rewards, by ranking up or by buying them from the Shop.

Types

Depending on the type of the Capsule there are guaranteed types of cards.

*For wood and stone capsules, gold is awarded based on a cycle, giving either 0, 2, or 3 gold, rarely 4 for stone, per capsule, averaging 0.875 gold for wood and 0.917 for stone. The full cycles are:

• Wood: 2,0,3,0,0,2,0,0,2,0,0,0,3,2,0,0,2,0,0,3,0,0,2,0
• Stone: 3,0,2,0,0,3,0,0,4,0,0,2,0,0,3,0,0,0,2,0,0,3,0,0
• Gold rewards are not affected by multipliers

The actual amount of science and cards is multiplied by a multiplier based on your rank. Science has a different multiplier from cards, and wood/stone/silver capsules have a different multiplier than iron/gold/diamond and epic capsules. Supreme capsules always give a single supreme researcher regardless of rank. These amounts are also increased by certain researchers. A fractional amount of a card represents the chance of getting a card. For example, 5.33 epic cards means 5 epic cards are guaranteed, plus there is a 33% chance to get a sixth card. Any cards that are not rare, epic, or supreme are common cards.

Alternatively, you can think of the probabilities of getting rare, epic, or supreme cards in capsules as ratios, since the probabilities are always proportional to the number of cards you get in that capsule, and the ratio stays the same for each capsule even as you rank up or upgrade researchers. For example, if you know you get 40 cards per wood capsule, the chances of getting a supreme researcher is 40/40,000 or 1 in 1000. The ratios are:
