Sometimes, industries will get lucky and produce extra resources. The base luck chance is 1% and the base luck bonus is 2x. Some Researchers can make them luckier or increase the resources gained.
Researchers that add to the luck: The Confectioners, The Groovers, Gimli Yosemite Sam, Darth Wallace, Nurse Temple, and ideally, the supreme researcher Dr. Shortstack.
Researchers that increase the resources gained from luck: Monsieur Frites, Heck Axe, Big Blender, Ann Munition, Hannibal Tavius, and ideally, the supreme researcher Alf Stark.
The combination of high luck multiplier and high luck chance can greatly accelerate production of resources. For example, level 4 luck power (x256*2=x512) and level 6 luck boost (21.25%+1%=22.25%) for a resource will increase output from all industries in that resource by (512*.2225+1*.7775) or ~114.7x overall boost.
